Aloha, RC helicopter fans and enthusiasts! My name is Matt, and I am the author of this blog. Glad to have you here with me, and I hope you enjoy my content! Before we jump into the vast world of RC helicopters, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I am originally from North Carolina, but I moved to Hawaii several years ago after I sold successfully my RC helicopter business. I know that you are probably curious about how I did that, but first things first, let me tell you about my life before becoming an accomplished RC helicopter entrepreneur.
I was still a little boy in my small town in North Carolina when my uncle Jack came back from a long stay in Australia and brought a new hobby with him. I still remember the day when we kids were gathered in our big living room as he unpacked a suitcase full of unfamiliar parts.
Much to our dismay, he assembled an entire helicopter with a few swift movements. However, this was not just a regular toy helicopter. It was a full-blown radio-controlled aircraft that could make maneuvers real-life pilots could only dream of.
We spent the next couple of days and weeks flying the RC helicopter over our ranch, and it was so much fun. Later on, my uncle showed me the magic of RC helicopter building, and in just a few months I already had come up with a few prototypes of my own.
My RC Helicopter Entrepreneurship Journey
I got so captivated by the art of creating RC aircraft that I started using every minute of my spare time to research models and prototypes and build new machines. I started studying mathematics and physics to help me with my calculations. I subscribed to all sorts of science and aviation magazines and even started an RC aircraft club at my high school.
I desperately wanted to become an engineer and I did my best to get accepted at the best college I could get into. After spending endless nights studying, I finally succeeded. Needless to say, I was the happiest person on Planet Earth.
Once I arrived on campus, I made sure to make the best of my time in college. While my friends partied, I stayed up late and studied relentlessly. Thus, in my sophomore year, I came up with my very own RC helicopter working prototype.
I was ready to face the RC helicopter business, or so I thought. It turned out otherwise. My prototype was not met with the enthusiasm I had hoped for. Instead, I got turned down by every company I approached.
I was almost ready to give up, when I met my angel, literally. Angel was a fellow university student majoring in Marketing and Communications. She fell in love with me and my ideas and encouraged me to start my own business.
As the two of us dove into the entrepreneurship realm, I improved significantly my prototype, and Angel built our brand. Finally, we were ready to conquer the market, and so we did. Our glaring success attracted the attention of one of the world’s biggest investors, who approached us with an offer we could not refuse.
After we sold the business, we moved to Hawaii in pursuit of a more relaxed and fulfilling life. Presently, we are fully devoted to our growing family. However, I have not given up on my passion for RC helicopters, and I feel like there is more I can give to fellow enthusiasts in the US and why not even worldwide.
This has been the reason why I started this blog. I hope you find the information I provide practical and interesting. Feel free to share your feedback and enjoy reading!
